15mm World War Two
Our WW2 games use home brew rules with 1 to 1 representation
of miniatures to troops. The majority of our games are early war,
especially 1940 France, but we do some '44 western front. The
Images below are from the second battle for Stonne' where the
French briefly re-took their town. Terrain, structures, stone
fences, etc are all scratchbuilt, infantry are Quality Castings,
vehicles are my
own sculptings and Quality Castings.
France 1940: The Battle of Stonne
Above: View of initial french deployment south of Stonne.
In the distance is an H-39 company attacking (badly) from the
west.
View looking northwest at the village of Stonne, the
French in the previous view were located to the right of this
view.
View looking east through town. The Germans fought
viscously, while the French main advance hesitated. The game was
a draw, as the French demolished the Germans but could not occupy
the town. In the actual battle, French armor got into town and
badly shot up the Germans at point blank range, only to be pushed
back out of town on the next day. This game was run at Advance
the Colors'98 in Dayton, OH sponsored by HMGS-Great Lakes.
